Olivia Hampson

"I can't believe I got this far!"

New up and coming british rock star, Olivia Hampson, first gained interest from the masses in her spotlight performance on the Ellen show. She earned her place after the american host saw her brilliant cover performances of some of Foo Fighters greatest hits, including "Everlong" and "Long Road to Ruin". The stars charming personality and passionate performance made her an instant hit with American audiences, and once the internet found out she only skyrocketed from there.

Of course, we had to scoop an interview with the star after her performance during the Graham Norton show.

So you were a student, correct?

"Yeah! I was studying Music, Drama, Psychology, and Creative Writing at my college."

Music? Surely you must have found it easy?

"Not at all! There's always something new to learn and new ways of improving my music that I could discover, it was definitely the most fun though."

How did you feel when you got the first call to perform on The Ellen Show?

"Oh well, *laughing*, I nearly fainted when I realised it wasn't a prank. There's a big difference between recording covers in front of a camera and performing in front of a crowd, it's a lot more intimidating than I thought but everyone was really nice and helpful!"

The crowds are only going to get bigger from here, do you think you're ready?

"Well, I've only been performing for small, closed crowds so far, but I've been invited to perform as an opening act alongside the Foo Fighters in June, and I'm going on my own tour with my new album in March across the UK! As for if I'm ready, well, I don't think I'll know unless I try."

That's a really positive outlook, we hope you have a great time!

"Thank you so much, it was lovely to meet you!"

Olivia Hampson's new album "Heart on my sleeve" will be released in April, but if you want to hear it sooner make sure to get tickets to her UK tour in March!
